I am committed to the nourishment of a restorative and reconciled community. My strategy is to discover ways to engage the disengaged through working with existing associations and through direct invitation. My efforts will focus on direct efforts to bring into conversation those groups of people who are not in relationship with civic possibility, civic accountability, and civic commitment; thus increasing the power of associations to engage citizens in their efforts.

As Harvey Milk would always say, if all of the "us's" out there band together, we'll have a majority and we'll win. Great thought. :-)

I am convinced that increased participation is not only good for our democracy, but good for the progressive movement in general.

Too often the political agenda is driven by those at the extremes - for both the left and the right. I believe that most people are reasonable in their beliefs and that these beliefs also match up with progressive ideals.

Engaging those who are not engaged can be tough to do. I wish you luck!
